's Handwerk - Craft Food & Beer in Sonthofen

We ordered 2 x cheese soup, 1 x Kässpatzen and 1 x Kaiserschmarrn to pick up. The food was very tasty. The specified pick-up time was also right. The packaging was compostable

Disappointing from start to finish! Ordered for delivery the day before for 5 p.m. Food arrived 30 minutes early. So we haven't prepared anything yet. Fortunately, our visit came earlier. The food is lukewarm, although we don't even live 1km away from the restaurant. We ordered a side salad with our crust roast. The dressing that tasted just like celery. Made the side salad inedible. The cheese soup was not convincing in terms of taste, was cold and not justified for a price of just under 7 euros per portion. For the burger, which has a steep price of 15 €, you should have ordered the fries for 3 €. Roasted crust three times with serving dumplings and red cabbage. Per serving of roasted crust. 2 slices of roast that lacked taste and then just put a tiny piece of crust on top, cheek! Napkin dumplings. The consistency is like a piece of rubber. Without taste. The red cabbage tasted as if you had opened the Lidl glass, warmed it up and served it. There was no taste in it, neither from the pears nor other spices. Presumably pickled pears from the glass, cut into small pieces and placed on the red cabbage. Maybe they get everything regionally. But with the proud prices, the food should be delivered on time, taste impeccable and also be delivered warm. Yes, the restaurants are struggling to survive. But then you should also please deliver decent food. We decided to order so that we can take care of the visit and don't have to stand in the kitchen ourselves. That decision was a mistake. Visit and the hosts were very disappointed with it. We will definitely not visit this restaurant again or recommend it to others.

Delicious eaten! My partner wanted a small lunch dish and, as a vegetarian, opted for a baked camembert. We had a delicious meal together. The locally brewed beer (Rote Perl) also tasted very good.

The food was delicious, even if the portions weren't quite full. The prices are quite high, but also justified in my opinion. Very friendly service. 1 point deduction because of the slightly sticky tables and the rather worn menus ...

Found it by accident. Since a place is only available with a reservation at the moment, we had to wait a bit. But it was worth it. The food is good and tasty, I couldn't test the beers as a driver, but the Dolden Null is also quite tasty. Try driving there!

Quality of the food was excellent, meat was excellent, selection of beers was also very good. Service friendly, nice and competent. Since you get very good quality both when eating and drinking, you have to dig a little deeper into your pockets, which we were happy to do on both visits !!!!

This restaurant has a really large selection of dishes and beers, so there is something for every taste. The dishes are not mainstream but a bit more unusual. I was very pleased with the large selection of vegan dishes compared to other restaurants.

I made a reservation at this restaurant for us to end our honeymoon as they were gluten free. The location itself is modern and relaxed. With all the lamps, it is certainly a real eye-catcher in the evening. We were in the restaurant on time, our table was reserved in the beer garden as we could see from the name tag. Since all the waitresses apparently had to do and ignored us, we took a seat at our designated table. Despite 3 passes by several times! We weren't even welcomed in the restaurant. Surrounding tables were assigned, menus were distributed and orders for drinks and food were taken from guests who entered the restaurant after us without a reservation. After 20 minutes, during which we weren't even looked at, we left the restaurant with great hunger. My goodbye was also kindly ignored. With the subsequent call that the table can be passed on to other guests, we were maliciously wished a nice evening.

Very chic location, great food offers, great craft beers, as well as attentive and nice service. Not cheap but really nice.

Great schnitzel in a beautiful place and very friendly staff. We had a wonderful experience there.

For Corona we wanted to eat outside on the terrace. The tables and benches were still wet from the rain that night. I asked the waitress if he could dry a table for us. He said there is only food inside because it should rain again in the afternoon! I asked him if he was really too lazy to dry a table for us. He said YES !!!! We were there at 11:30 and at 14:00 it still didn't rain a drop. As my picture shows, even the sun is shining. When I asked about the boss, it was just said that he wasn't there. Actually unbelievable in Corona times! Some of them don't need to earn any money even though the bar had to close when the lockdown occurred. You'd better apply to the state for money before drying a table! Or you just have very high prices and can afford such behavior. Such a place should be boycotted !!!!

Modern restaurant with friendly service, who also ask in the kitchen if they have allergies, in order to adapt dishes so that they can be eaten without any problems. In addition, there is a good selection of tasty and healthy dishes made mainly from regional products. Also suitable for vegetarians and vegans to a certain extent, even if only with a small selection of dishes. I think it's worth mentioning, however, that the prices are not necessarily cheap there, which is why we subtracted one star.

Great atmosphere, great food and homemade beer. I loved especially the interior.

The food was good and there are a few exceptional dishes to choose from. Unfortunately there are not many vegetarian dishes. The prices are m.n.n. not entirely justified, but still in the frame. A starter is not recommended for normal hunger, because otherwise you can hardly make the main course. When I said this to the waiter, the waiter said: "Yes, I knew that, but I have to sell". Something contradicts the whole sustainability concept if 3/4 of the food ends up in the trash because you are only passing through and cannot take the food with you. Therefore unfortunately only 3 stars.

Something different than usual. Dishes like schnitzel are served with beer breading and delicious potatoes with a dip. Delicious. Or vegetables in a bag ... nice and tasty idea. Prices moderate. In addition, in the middle of Sonthofen with outdoor spaces. Nice interior. Good service.

It is a very nice place and they have an option in the menu for everyone. Not 5 stars just because I found it a little too expensive (especially water, I asked for tab water and I had to pay something like 4,40€ for it)

We randomly chose this restaurant while passing through and we were not disappointed. The atmosphere is great and they have a play corner for kids which is always a win for us. The food and service were good.

Excellent, food i can only recommend it. We were only 2 people and didnt have to Reserve but I recommend calling before hand. The beer is also something for those who are looking for something particular because they have a huge selection.

Food was okish.. ice cream was aweful.. had chrystals.. means there was an issue with the cooling chain.. Interior decor and design cool and trendy..

I really like the atmosphere, all the sweet little glasses and the food was very tasty but in my opinion the portions are a bit small

The beer paddle is a good introduction to the wide range of craft beers available. The food selection was wide and we liked the Bruschetta which was excellent. The Currywurst was not as good as the sauce was lacking zing and was somewhat watery, but the beers more than made up for it.

It was a lovely atmosphere. They had great food for kids and nice adult food. I recommend going here as it is lovely.

This is really the hipsters delight ! It is truly cool place to eat if you are around Sonthofen. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful . The menu is great . The food was great , portions are good size . Price is fair for what you get and the high quality of the local products .

Great modern shop in the middle of Sonthofen. There is very delicious food and also classics like the good old schnitzel are very fresh. How the food is presented with the various plates and pots is fun. The service was very good, wait for the food was okay. Price for the quality you get here absolutely great. Overall, highly recommended.

Lovely staff. Good nosh. Perfectly acceptable ambience. If you have the palate of a sophisticated lady or gentleman person, you may find the flavour combinations jarring. But you'll find something that's well & truly edible. Worth a visit.

I’ve never had Strauss-burger in my life and that is not for me! The Camembert cheese was on the other hand amazing! The staff is really nice, the takes really long to be served!!

Lovely food, but MASSIVE portions, so make sure you've got time to digest afterwards.

Fantastic food and vibe. There were several good vegetarian, dairy free options for the mains. Only point of improvement would be the lack of options for dairy intolerances on starters and desserts. Will return next time I come to this part of Germany.

Never again!!! Very nice place, atmosphere and possibly food and drinks. Unfortunately when we came at 16:30 and tried to order food they had only 3 things to choose from and 10 things for kids ONLY. We ordered kids burger ( which mind the price of 10€ can be a normal burger in any other place). Additionally beers and other stuff - so 30 euro only for main course... they refused to give us kids food because we are adults. We offered more money for a sightly bigger portion, they still refused. Well they lost 40-50€ , potential regular customers and 4 stars.

My favourite restaurant in Sonthofen and, probably, the whole Bavaria :)! All dishes whether they are for meat lovers or vegetarians are just delicious and made with love by people who are passionate about what they do! That's how I feel, anyway:). In Germany they love putting lots of salt in all their dishes, Handwerk is the only place where I I don't have a desire to dilute my soup with water ?. The restaurant' design is beautiful but not pretentious. Rustic wood tables, cozy fireplace, lots of natural daylight, and space. Quite often we go there straight after skiing and feel at home and welcome. The staff are always friendly, speak good English. They also accept all bank cards. It may sound strange to someone who has never been to Germany but in this area some restaurants take only cash and some don't accept credit cards ?‍♀️. The only thing I would improve is speed. All restaurants I went to in Sonthofen area have one-two waiting staff max. Although the guys in Handwerk are fast in comparison with other restaurants you'll still have to wait. So prepare for it. Apart from lunch time ;). They have an amazing lunch offer (I'm not sure if it's every day though) - eat as much as you want for €11 (excluding drinks), the choice of dishes is ??, tasty (and original) meat and vegetarian dishes!

Get the Schweinebraten or the schnitzel. Easily the best

Nice and cosy. Too bad I wasn't hungry. Next time I have to try some of their specialities.
